Bait & Hook paintball Strategy Tip
Welcome to Adobe GoLive 6
The Bait and Hook Manuever
Usually, you don't want 2 people in one bunker, although in this case you should do it. (completely ignore the man on the left)The man in the middle is the one in combat against the enemy, while the man on the right is hiding. His job is to hide so that the enemy won't know he's there. Hiding means, no shooting or exposing yourself. What the man in the middle should do is either fall back or die (in order for this bait and hook trap to work). That way the enemy will advance forward not knowing that a man is in that bunker, and while they are advancing, the man on the right pops up and kills 'em. Now, this strategy should only be done if your team if already on the downhill, because if you start out with a man hiding in the beginning of the game, it's like having 1 man less than the other team. Plus, there are too many things that could go wrong if this strategy isn't done correctly. In order for it to go correctly, the man on the right (who is hiding) will have to stay alive when he gives his surprise attack. The things that could go wrong (IF HE DIES) would be you lose a portion of the field which they now control, because you fell back and they advanced. Second, you lose a huge advantage/come-back if the man on the right doesn't kill anyone, because he dies and they lost no one. So you are really downhill at this point. It is key for him to kill someone and he must stay alive in order for this tactic to give your team the leading edge. Even though it should only be done when your team is on the downhill, it can gain you the biggest advantage over the other team.
The Bait and Hook Manuever 2
What could be done in this situation is, the man in the middle (the bailt) can move up towards the enemy about 10-15 ft. infront of his other team mates. Then he starts firing crazily at the enemy. 'The bait's' other 2 team mates will stay hidden behind cover the whole time; that way they can't be seen by the enemy (becoming the hook for the strategy). Staying hidden means don't fire or poke your head out to look at things. The bait then does one of the 2 following actions: Start falling back so the enemy follows you (because they think its an easy kill being by yourself and all) or he dies, so that the enemy will advance, thinking that area is not occupied by the 2 hooks. The bait should be able to give some kind of a signal to the hooks so that the hooks will know when to spring the trap (pop out and shoot). When they do spring the trap, they start firing WHEN the enemy is moving in. That way the enemy is out in the open and you will be able to kill a few of them. The bait should also help shooting the enemy down if he didn't die trying set the trap.
REMEMBER: The enemy will only advance because they think the area is unoccupied since the "bait" has either fallen back or died. Also, they should only be able to see and hear the bait. The hooks must make the enemy believe the area is uninhabited.
Do Not Tunnel Vision
Tunnel Vision is when you won't take your eyes off of one spot. You end up concentrating on one spot and then you don't know what's going on around you. That's tunnel vision.
You might see an enemy, and then concentrate on him when you should be looking around for flanking enemies or just another enemy. This strategy should be obeyed 100% of the time, and especially in speedball because the game moves so fast. You could pop up to shoot at your guy and be hit by the man you weren't even looking at. Another tip that applies to this is if an enemy suddenly is not visible anymore, do not look at where you think he will go because that is most likely where he won't go. Look in a much broader area of the field than one spot, this will enable you to find him once he becomes visible again.
